Because we are all so diverse it makes perfect sense that we all like and dislike different things, like food, cars and accommodation.Sutherland is a quaint old town filled with great history and traditions, this is reflected in the different houses when you take a stroll through town and talk to its people.
Most of the houses in Sutherland belong or belonged to farmers who stayed over when they made the arduous trek to town a hundred years ago. In those days you did not just nip into town quickly for a little shopping, you would stay for two to three days , made all their purchases and then trekked back to the farm again.
Originally from Pretoria, we moved to Sutherland 6 years ago to get into the leisure and lifestyle business but away from the busy city life

Star Gazing
Located just one kilometer out of town on the R354 towards Matjiesfontein you will find Jurg Wagener at Sterland who provides fantastic Star Gazing Shows for young and old. Sterland provides a whole host of things to do including a fossil exhibition with local Paleontologist Jaco Groenewald.

The Dutch Reformed Church in Piet Retief street is steeped in rich history which can be enjoyed by the whole family daily.

Located at 22 Sarel Celliers street is Strawberry Moon. A beautiful gift and eats shop where you can shop a bit of everything as well as a nice cup of coffee or tea. There are always fresh cake on hand for the sweet tooth.
